About TAMIL NADU AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is the most renowned, highly accredited and top ranking farm school in southern peninsular India. It has undergone a series of metamorphosis and become the premier in the field of Agricultural Sciences. It was first established as an Agricultural School in Chennai as early as 1868 and later relocated in Coimbatore as AC&RI in 1906. The full fledged Agricultural University was formed in 1971. Presently the University consists of ten constituent colleges distributed in seven campuses besides 32 research stations covering the entire State of Tamil Nadu. The mission of this university is to provide impetus to agricultural education and research, to help the farming community in improving their levels of living by developing and disseminating agro-technologies, foster innovation to achieve higher agricultural productivity and strive to solve problems encountered in attaining food and nutritional security and commercialization of agriculture.
